The front bodice is a deep v that is open at the center and does not overlap, allowing the fit and coverage to be adjusted with the waistband ties. The neckline and sleeveless option are finished with a hem, while the bottom hemline finished with the waistband. Choose short or long waistband ties. Both can be worn snug, tied tight under the bust for a fitted look or tied looser at the waist for a relaxed fit. The long ties can be wrapped around and tied at the back, creating a crossover effect in the front. Sleeve options include sleeveless, flutter, 3/4 with elastic, long with elastic, or long bell. Skill level: Confident beginner – sewing apparel woven can be tricky. Attaching the waistband using the enclosed method will be the most difficult for a true beginner. Suggested Fabrics: •Fabric content will affect the drape and fit. •Woven apparel fabrics with drape. You may use fabrics with less drape such as 100% cotton and it will give a more vintage stiff feel. •Rayon challis, voile, lawn, batiste, silk crepe, rayon crepe, chiffon, chambray, linen, etc. Fabrics such as quilting cotton will work as well but will feel stiff and give a boxy look.
