Resort Collection: Youth Florence One Shoulder Peplum & Dress

This is not a physical garment or pattern and nothing will be mailed to you. Florence is a beautiful knit one shoulder pattern. The fully lined bodice is finished with clear elastic for stability. Choose to add single or double straps for added support. The full circle skirt is perfect for twirling and can be cut with a side seam to save fabric or on the double fold for a quick sew. Choose from three length options: mini peplum, peplum, or dress length. The mini peplum is perfect to pair with shorts or bummies for the summer months. The peplum pairs with leggings wonderfully. You can choose to add inseam pockets to the dress length with a side seam! Florence is perfect for special family vacations or everyday wear! (See sewing the peplum with strap bodice HERE and sewing the dress with plain bodice HERE)   Sizes (includes both imperial and metric measurements): •Fits sizes 1/2 (about 9-12 months) to 14. •Chest sizes 19″-32″ or 46.2-81.2 cm •Waist sizes 19.5″-28″ or 49.5-71.1 cm •Hip sizes 19.5″-34″ of 49.5-86.3 cm Skill level: •Confident beginner- using clear elastic in the seams may be difficult for a newer sewist. Suggested Fabrics: •Fabric content will affect the drape and fit. •Choose a medium weight knit with at least 50% stretch horizontally and vertically. Choose a knit with good recovery, such as cotton spandex, high quality rib knits with lots of recovery, etc. •Fabrics with less vertical stretch may end up shorter in length. •Double brushed poly works okay, but doesn’t give great support. •Fabric with less stretch and recovery, such as liverpool, ponte, rayon french terry will feel tighter than intended. •I do not recommend using a knit without good recovery for the bodice, such as cotton interlock, rayon spandex, waffle knit, and some rib knits. This will result in a bodice that is too big/ill fitting.   Notions: •1/4″ or 3/8″ clear elastic for all options. Elastic is necessary, don’t try to skip!! •Optional – 1/2″ interfacing or knit hem tape for hemming. •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, and marking tool. Ball point, stretch, or jersey needle. Knit twin needle optional.
