Ily a quodques années que levéque Jet Prince de Lrega Coda au Roy.” Description: Very decorative plan of the fortified city of Dinant, Belgium. It shows the reinforcements around the city, which was a fortified city in the Prince-Bishopric of Liège. The orientation is indicated by a compass rose with “Nord” (North) to the left. A legend (Renvoy) in the top right corner uses letters to identify key locations within the city and its defenses. The engraving comes from the Nicolas de Fer atlas “Les Forces de l’Europe, ou Description des principales villes, avec leurs fortifications.” engraved by Herman van Loon, published in Paris, 1693.
