This is not a physical garment or pattern and nothing will be mailed to you. Blythe is a knit babydoll style pattern with several options. Blythe is great for everyday wear or dressed up for family photos or special occasions. Baby Blythe Features: •Made for knit fabrics. •The bodice is semi-fitted at the chest and loose at the waist. •The front neckline is a scoop. •2 finishing options for the neckline and tank: knit binding or knit bands. •2 skirt length options: top or dress. •2 gathered skirt options: simple skirt or tiered skirt. •Optional bodysuit with snap placket. •The bodysuit can have any of the skirt options attached. •5 sleeve options: sleeveless, short, half, long, or flutter sleeves. Sizes (includes both imperial and metric measurements): •Fits sizes Newborn to 18-24 months. •Chest sizes 15.5″-20.5″ or 39.4-52 cm •Waist sizes 15″-21″ or 38-53.3 cm •Hip sizes 16″-21″ of 40.6-53.3 cm Skill level: •Confident beginner Suggested Fabrics: •Fabric content will affect the drape and fit. •For the body – Drafted for lightweight knits with at least 40% stretch and good drape. •Rayon spandex, jersey, rayon french terry, ITY, modal, bamboo lycra, brushed poly, tri-blend, cupro, etc. •Knits that have less recovery, such as rayon spandex, tend to ‘grow with wear’ and may fit looser/larger. •Fabrics with less stretch like poly french terry, or fabrics with strong recovery (such as cotton lycra) will fit tighter. For the neckband – choose a fabric with good stretch and recovery, like cotton lycra or ribbing. Notions: •A stabilizer for the waist seam – you may use 1″ knit interfacing or clear or knit elastic (3/8″, or 1/2″) to stabilize the seams. My preference for this pattern is 1″ fusible knit stay tape. •Bodysuit option: 3 snaps or snap tape, optional- small scrap of interfacing. •Optional: 1/2″ wash away hem tape, knit twin needle •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, and marking tool.
