Made for Mermaids Sewing Patterns are digital downloads. You will print OR project them at home, OR send them to a copy shop to print. This is not a physical garment or pattern and nothing will be mailed to you. Poppy is a knit pattern full of options. The hemmed neckline has a front faux placket. The 1/2 circle skirt is both quick and fun. Choose from 4 skirt options: peplum, vintage, dress, or a dress with ruffle. Also includes a precious bubble romper with elastic legs and a snap placket. Perfect for year-round wear with 6 sleeves: sleeveless, short, half, long, a short flutter, or long flutter. The sleeveless option is finished with knit bands. Poppy will be your new go-to for spring events, holidays, or everyday wear. Baby Poppy Features: • Made for knit fabrics. • Faux button placket front. • 1/2 circle skirt. • 4 skirt options: peplum, vintage length, dress, or dress with ruffle. • The bubble romper option bottom is is cut on the fold with no front or back seam. • The bubble romper is finished with an elastic casing and a snap placket. • 6 sleeve options: sleeveless, short, half, long, short flutter, and long flutter. • The sleeveless option is finished with knit bands. Sizes (includes both imperial and metric measurements): •Fits sizes Newborn to 18-24 months. •Chest sizes 15.5″-20.5″ or 39.4-52 cm •Waist sizes 15″-21″ or 38-53.3 cm •Hip sizes 16″-21″ of 40.6-53.3 cm Skill level: •Confident beginner- hemming the faux placket, gathering the ruffle or romper option, adding elastic and the snap placket may be more difficult for a beginner sewist. Suggested Fabrics: •Fabric content will affect the drape and fit. •Drafted for light to medium weight knits with at least 40% stretch, good recovery, and good drape. •Double brushed poly, cotton lycra, liverpool, triblend, cupro, modal, rib knit, ITY etc. •Knits that have less recovery, such as rayon spandex, tend to ‘grow with wear’ and may fit looser/larger. •For Bubble Romper I recommend fabrics with more structure and weight such as cotton lycra to give a better “bubble” look. Notions: •3-5 buttons (3/4” or smaller) or snaps. You can use larger buttons as well depending on your preference. •Romper Option- 3/8″ or 1/4″ elastic, a small scrap of fusible interfacing, 2-3 snaps or snap tape. •Optional- A stabilizer for the waist seam – you may use 1″ knit interfacing or clear or knit elastic (3/8″ or 1/2″) to stabilize the seams. My preference for this pattern is 1″ fusible knit stay tape. Optional Interfacing for functioning buttons. •Optional – Wash away hem tape. •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, and marking tool. Ball point, stretch, or jersey needle. Knit twin needle optional. Optional – Wash away hem tape. 4 PDF sizes included (all files include layers): •Print at home, trimless format in sizes: •US (8.5″ x 11″) The tutorial is 33 pages and pattern pieces are on 13 pages. 46 pages total. •A4 (8.25″ x 11.75″) The tutorial is 33 pages and pattern pieces are on 13 pages. 46 pages total. •A0/Copy shop (33.1″ x 46.8″) There is 1 A0 page. •Projector File with 2″ and 4cm measuring squares.
