This is not a physical garment or pattern and nothing will be mailed to you. The Emmy pattern is your new favorite athletic top. Emmy blends style and function with a flattering front scoop neckline and a trendy open-back design featuring two crisscrossing straps. The straps have enclosed elastic for added support. You can choose from a sports bra or longline length, both finished with a band. The fully lined bodice includes optional removable cups. Customize the support by adding an inner lining of power mesh, as well as elastic in the band and seams. Emmy is perfect for layering under open-back tops, hitting the gym, or wearing every day as athleisure. Adult Emmy Features: •Made for knit fabrics. •Athletic knit top that is fully lined with optional removable cups. •Choose from a sports bra or longline length. •The front neckline is scooped. •Open-back with crisscrossing straps. •The straps have enclosed elastic. •The bottom is finished with a band with optional enclosed elastic. •Customize your support with an optional power mesh innerlining and added elastic to the seams. •Includes a full video sew-through. Sizes (includes both imperial and metric measurements): •Fits upper bust sizes 31″-53″ or 78.7-134.6 cm •Fits full bust sizes 30″-60″ or 76.2-153.4 cm •Fits under bust sizes 26″-52″ or 66-132.1 cm •Fits natural waist sizes: 23″-57″ or 58.4-134.6 cm. Skill level: Intermediate- sewing athletic knits can be tricky. Adding the elastic, lining, and sewing the band will be the most difficult steps for a true beginner. Suggested Fabrics: •Fabric content will affect the drape and fit. •Drafted for medium weight knits (200gsm ) with 4-way stretch, great recovery, and a minimum 50% horizontal stretch, and 50% vertical stretch. Look for high spandex content, 5% minimum, but I prefer 12%-25%. Note- the higher spandex content and heavier weight knits (250gsm ) will feel tighter and give more compression. •Peached performance fabric is by far my favorite fabric for Emmy. It is 370gsm, 87% polyester, 13% spandex. It has 100% horizontal stretch and 100% vertical stretch. •Other options will be a ribbed athletic knit, athletic brushed poly, or other athletic knits, etc. •I like to self line my Emmy, but you could also use another similar weight athletic knit for the lining. You do not want to use a different weight or stretch fabric for the lining, it will not work well. •For the optional innerlining for added support OR removable cup option, you will need power mesh or power net Notions: •All options need fusible knit interfacing AND 1/2″ or 3/4″ elastic for the straps •Optional- 1/4″ clear elastic for added support •Optional- 1/2″ wonder under or knit hem tape •Optional- 1″-2″ knit under bust elastic •Optional- sewing cups for removable cup option •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, safety pin or bodkin, and marking tool.
