Title:                   “Asia Secundum legitimas Projectionis Stereigraphicae …”​ ​ Description: This splendid copper engraving map shows the continent of Asia with all countries from Turkey, the Orient, Arabia, Persia, Russia, India, China, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Siam, Thailand, Borneo, Sumatra and Indonesia. Haas was a mathematician and cosmographer teaching at the University in Nuremberg.  A finely engraved and detailed map with a figured cartouche at lower left showing indigenous peoples and a European female figure. Extending from Arabia to Japan and south to New Guinea. Original hand colouring! Slightly brownish and stained. Small lower centerfold split and left lower margin corner restored.
