The PHANTOM M-80 A is a high-performance, directional-dispersion, in-ceiling Hi-Fi speaker. Featuring an angled, DALI-designed, SMC-equipped 7 inch bass/midrange driver and innovative decoupled 28 mm soft dome tweeter, the M-80 A brings discreet, extraordinary sound to high-end home theatres, distributed sound installations and ceiling-mounted music systems. ADJUSTABLE DIRECTIVITY Optimised for the listening position With a powerful 7 inch bass/midrange driver angled at 25° and an adjustable tweeter, the PHANTOM M-80 A (angled) lets you direct the sound with precision for optimum dispersion and the best-possible sound quality at the listening position. The M-80 A also incorporates our compass-style direction indicators that make fine adjustments quick and convenient. IN-CEILING SURROUND SOUND Discreet speakers with an exceptional sound With its angled drivers, the discreet M-80 A in-ceiling speaker recreates the immersion of a traditional floor, wall or shelf-mount home theatre setup. Delivering exceptional LCR (left, centre, right), surround and height channel audio, the M-80 A is the perfect solution when floorspace is limited, side and rear walls are not suitable for mounting speakers or when a more discreet setup is preferred. CLASS-LEADING SOUND QUALITY A natural, uncoloured midrange Designed to complement our high-performance M-series in-wall speakers, the M-80 A’s 7 inch bass/midrange driver with lightweight paper and wood fibre cone, low-loss rubber surround and DALI’s patented SMC-based magnet system offers rich, full low frequencies and a natural, uncoloured midrange. Combine that with the new oversized 28 mm soft dome tweeter with an impressively extended and detailed upper-frequency response and you have a speaker that offers class-leading sound quality in the angled in-ceiling speaker category. EASY ONE-PIECE INSTALLATION Install with no need for special tools The simple dogleg clamp system and magnetic grille make installing the M-80 A quick and convenient with no need for special tools. Simply connect the speaker cables using the spring terminals and insert the speaker into the aperture – only 134 mm mounting depth required. Fine-tune using the compass-style markings and turn the four clamp screws to secure the speaker in place. Then fit the magnetic grille over the speaker and you’re done. PAPER AND WOOD FIBRE CONE A cleaner and more uncoloured sound reproduction The M-80 A bass/midrange driver features our unique paper and wood fibre cone material. While adding stiffness to control unwanted vibrations, the wood fibre material also offers non-uniform break-up characteristics to lower colouration and distortion for a cleaner and more uncoloured sound reproduction. The lightweight cone also increases driver sensitivity and makes it easier for the amplifier to control at higher frequencies. 28 MM SOFT DOME TWEETER A naturally balanced, effortless and coherent midrange performance The newly developed, oversized 28 mm tweeter generates higher sound pressures with less excursion for exceptional driver control. The oversized design also extends low-frequency response, providing a more seamless handover from the bass/midrange driver that creates a naturally balanced, effortless and coherent midrange performance.
