California is separated from the mainland by the island-dotted Mare Rubrum. The Great Lakes are formed with an enlarged Lake Michigan, Mississippi River shown well west of real location. Decorative cartouche shows an Amazon queen in a feather headdress, surrounded by animals, sugar cane and Indian who presents her with gold.
