Prior to 2006, the Black Watch was an infantry regiment. The Black Watch clan is well recognised sett and has been differenced by many clans, for example the Campbell clan with a lightened variation, the Grants, Munros and Sutherlands. The full Black Watch tartan is a lovely tricolour of a blue, black, and green subdued tartan, benefiting as camouflage more than dress, associated with the Campbell due to role in the Black Watch and other Government forces.
